#SumItUpSunday: July, 5th, 2020

People, we are into the first week of July and this year has removed the accepted "ignorance glasses" off of many individuals including ourselves.

When it comes to the B-word, my favorite lesson is that Balance is when your thoughts, actions, and words are all in alignment. Don't be a walking starburst! Don't be a walking contradiction. Keep in mind that it is very easy to behave in extreme ways, and it takes a lot more energy to maintain a sense of balance.

The longer I roam this earth, the more I value the honor in Integrity. It is to do the right thing, even if no one is watching. It is to hold your ground, and do what is just outside of personal gain. Sometimes the cost of Integrity is a loss of a friend (or a weed in your life). Let's face it, if somebody does not respect the high level of integrity you aim to hold- you don't need that energy in your life. Don't dim your glow.

Each of us play a role in this battle where most of us aim for a more just future. You and I both know that there are people out there that believe we are less than them. There are those that take a glance at our colored skin and their whole attitude shifts.

There are also those whom take a look at our exterior presence and love the power that we each hold. There are those that celebrate us because they acknowledge that they are us, and we are them.

My friend Ashley, founder and CEO of Lotus, Love, & Truth, recently delivered a message to me. "Darkness does not necessarily mean EVIL. It is simply that we have not yet brought light to it". Some people have been nurtured in darkness while others cultivate themselves in Love. Today, you have your choice- Live in ignorance or educate yourself. Equality will no longer wait on anyone.

There are different ways in which we can each contribute. I hope you are having

"uncomfortable" conversations left and right. I hope you are holding your Loved ones close and doing what you can, when you can. May your thoughts, actions, and words align with everything that you do. May your level of integrity define you and may it bring your legacy joy.

Here is a list of Petitions in which you can participate it.

-Removal of confederate monuments. List of specific monuments HERE.

-Close down the military base Fort Hood. More details, and petitions to sign regarding Vanessa Guillen in the description HERE.

The mentioned campaigns are a very small fraction of the overall issues we all face daily. These are just a few steps that you can take but please keep in mind that this battle carries us everywhere we go. Use every opportunity presented to you to educate those around you, to lead by EXAMPLE, and to show people the true Power of Self-Love and Love for others.
